Some observations from the Czech curlers meeting:
- Election Membership Meeting of the Czech Curling Federation, June 2017, 9.30 am, Hotel Globus, approx. 35 persons present, 64 mandates
- Passive atmosphere devoid of juice, optimism and constructive discussion
- Two currents of opinion are evident: One, with the support of about one-third of the membership, seeks dynamic development, the fulfillment of a concrete program with a vision for the future, and fiscal responsibility. The latter, with more support from the membership base, shows satisfaction with the status quo and confidence in the mechanisms set in place.
- None of those who were elected four years ago to the SC are running for the Executive Committee
- CSC does not have a functioning economic commission
- There is no agenda presented at the CSC membership meeting for the next term
- CSC members do not address the situation surrounding the impending expiration of the lease for the land under the Roztyl Hall
- Instead of the expected subsidy of 3.2 mil. CZK 1.6 million for the 2017 Olympic qualification. CZK. The total budget for the OQE is more than CZK 5 million. CZK
- Issues of streaming, curling promo management, use of the WCF DA program, lack of coaches and umpires, college curling, etc. are not mentioned at all, let alone discussed
- From the President's lips comes praise for the new CSC website and the evolution of CSC's marketing efforts, as well as the status and results of the junior national teams
For 4 years we have a new, democratically elected leadership of the union. Good luck in your hard work. There are a number of things that really need to be moved.
