A guest in an earmuff.

Jaromír Bosák is a constant in the sky of sports journalism. His name is inseparable from football and golf. The insight, moderate humour, nice glosses and good knowledge of the topic are the hallmarks of this seventy-seven-year-old known to the public mainly as an expert on German football. A text message asking me to call his phone number made me happy, even though I didn't know what the subject of our conversation would be. I was expecting either a request to set up a curling social and sports event for journalists (I have set up similar things for sports journalists in the past) or some curling query. It was neither. It was an invitation to be on his author's show, THE EAR. I accepted the invitation and was given the homework of making a short video and sending in some photos. I completed the assignment and produced a selection for subsequent use. The gathering in a small studio near the National Theatre had the character of a reunion of old friends who first reminisce about mutual acquaintances, mention recent health problems and then talk about sports and music. Most enjoyable of all was the space we gave each other to finish each other's thoughts, whether they were questions or answers. It was an honor to be number 248 on the Red Earring guest list.
